Meanwhile, Satoshi Watanabe, Akira, and the leaders of the emerging Midori kingdom work to unite the surviving peoples of Japan, including humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, trolls, sea elves, and other transformed beings, into a single resistance.
As Jack and Desert Wind travel across the transformed world, they discover that the Hong’s invasion is far more dangerous than anyone imagined. Hundreds upon hundreds of ships are being prepared along the Chinese coast, while a powerful Hong mage works to eliminate the greatest threat to their plans: Jack himself.
When the Hong finally reach Japan, the defenders face an enemy that outnumbers them three to one, and an enemy that is already dead.
